About NEBE
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by Proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body responsible for conducting elections, organizing referenda, and regulating political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is currently enhancing its institutional capacity with a strong focus on human resource development. As part of this effort, NEBE is offering internship opportunities to fresh graduates who are passionate about governance, democracy, and institutional strengthening.
Position: Interns – Training Department
The Training Interns will support the NEBE Training Department in preparing for the upcoming General Election. This role provides hands-on experience in training coordination, communication, and logistics management across different regions of Ethiopia.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Training Center Identification & Arrangement
- Collaborate with NEBE regional offices to identify potential training centers.
- Ensure training centers meet standards for capacity, accessibility, and safety.
- Maintain an updated database of all identified centers.
Trainers’ Recruitment & Management
- Disseminate recruitment announcements via official letters, email, and social media.
- Assist in application review, shortlisting, exams, and interviews.
- Support the evaluation and onboarding process of trainers.
Training Activities Support
- Provide logistical support (scheduling, transport, and venue arrangements).
- Coordinate with regional offices to set up training venues.
Monitoring Materials Distribution
- Oversee the distribution and retrieval of training materials.
- Ensure timely supply of all required resources for training sessions.
Communication & Reporting
- Act as a link between NEBE HQ, regional offices, and constituency offices.
- Collect updates and reports from training centers.
Training Facilitation & Attendance Management
- Assist in facilitating training sessions in various regions.
- Manage trainers’ and participants’ attendance records.
- Support timely payment processing for trainers, hotels, and service providers.
Qualification Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and communication platforms.
- Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Languages: Proficiency in one or more regional languages is required (Amharic, Afan Oromo, Afari, Afan Somali, or Tigrigna).
Internship Details
- Reports To: Training Department
- Duty Station: Addis Ababa (with possible regional support tasks)
- Duration: 10 months
- Compensation: Monthly stipend (no salary)
