About the National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE)
The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established under Proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body responsible for conducting elections, organizing referenda, and regulating political parties across Ethiopia.
As NEBE prepares for the 7th General Election scheduled for May 2026, it is strengthening its institutional and human resource capacity. In this effort, NEBE invites passionate fresh graduates to join as Interns in the Civic and Voter Education Department, working closely with NEBE’s regional offices and university volunteers.
Position: Intern – Civic and Voter Education (CVE) Department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Civic Education, Adult Education, Political Science, or related Social Science fields.
- No prior work experience required (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Amharic and the local language of the assigned duty station.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, civic engagement, and electoral integrity.
- Willingness to travel within assigned regions.
Reports to: Training Departments
Duty Stations: Afar, Somali, Dire Dawa, Benishangul, Tigray, Southwest Ethiopia, and Central Ethiopia
Duration: 8 Months
Compensation: Monthly stipend to cover basic expenses
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Civic and Voter Education (CVE) initiatives.
- Collaborate with NEBE’s Regional Branch Offices and local university volunteers.
- Participate in outreach and awareness activities to promote voter participation.
- Assist in organizing training sessions, community engagements, and election-related events.
- Contribute to data collection, reporting, and coordination efforts within assigned regions.
