Mercy Corps Ethiopia is inviting qualified fresh graduates and early-career professionals to apply for the position of Human Resource Assistant (Temporary).
Position: Human Resource Assistant (Temporary)
General Position Summary
The Human Resource Assistant supports the HR Department in the implementation of day-to-day human resource functions. The role focuses on recruitment support, employee record management, onboarding processes, HR reporting, and staff support while ensuring compliance with Mercy Corps policies and Ethiopian labor regulations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Human Resource Management
- Business Administration
- Public Administration
- Management
- Other business-related fields
Experience
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience in HR or administrative roles
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Cultural sensitivity, emotional maturity, and adaptability
- Ability to respond courteously to visitors and urgent requests
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Provide general HR support to Mercy Corps Ethiopia HR Department
- Collect, track, and organize employee documentation
- Maintain accurate employee records including contracts, CVs, timesheets, leave records, and performance evaluations
- Support recruitment activities including resume screening and interview coordination
- Prepare interview schedules, agendas, and documentation
- Assist in onboarding processes and creation of employee files
- Support HR documentation and filing systems
- Produce weekly activity reports and other HR reports as required
- Assist with day-to-day HR administrative tasks
