Position Summary: Gastroenterology Nurse
Landmark General Hospital is seeking a qualified and experienced Gastroenterology Nurse to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a background in nursing with a minimum of two years’ experience in a gastroenterology or endoscopy unit. You will support physicians during procedures, monitor patient recovery, and educate patients about gastrointestinal health and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during GI procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies
- Prepare patients for procedures, including IV insertion, sedation monitoring, and obtaining informed consent
- Monitor patients throughout the procedure and post-procedure for signs of complications
- Educate patients on preparation and post-procedure care
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and outcomes
- Manage and sterilize endoscopy equipment following infection control protocols
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: BSc Degree in Nursing
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience in a Gastroenterology or Endoscopy Unit
- Strong clinical knowledge of GI procedures and patient monitoring
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team-oriented environment
