About the Kyoto University ADB Scholarship
Kyoto University, in partnership with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), offers a prestigious and fully funded master’s scholarship for international students under the ADB-Japan Scholarship Program 2025–26. The program supports outstanding students from developing countries , enabling them to pursue a two-year master’s degree at one of Asia’s top research universities.

Each year, ADB awards 300 full scholarships across various universities in Asia. At Kyoto University, all courses under this program are taught in English, and no Japanese language skills are required to apply.

The ADB Scholarship at Kyoto University is fully funded and covers all major academic and living expenses:

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Kyoto University ADB Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a national of an eligible country (see list below)
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a strong academic record
- Have at least 2 years of full-time work experience after graduation
- Be no older than 35 years old at the time of application (exceptions up to 45 for senior applicants)
- Commit to returning to their home country after program completion
- Be in good health
