The Ethiopian Capital Market Authority (ECMA) is a Federal Regulatory Authority established under Capital Market Proclamation No. 1248/2021. As an autonomous institution, ECMA is tasked with ensuring a fair, efficient, and well-regulated capital market in Ethiopia. ECMA licenses and oversees securities exchanges, depositories, clearing companies, and other capital market participants.
The Authority plays a critical role in shaping Ethiopia’s capital market landscape and promoting a secure and transparent environment for the issuance and trading of securities.
Position Summary
ECMA is seeking a motivated and capable Junior IT Officer to support its growing IT operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in hardware support, systems maintenance, user assistance, and IT service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve basic hardware issues including computers, printers, and connectivity problems
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware devices
- Maintain inventory records and coordinate with vendors for repairs and technical support
- Provide first-level support for software applications and help users troubleshoot common problems
- Log and escalate incidents using the internal IT ticketing system
- Prepare basic user manuals and documentation to support application usage
- Support IT help desk functions, adhering to defined service level agreements (SLAs)
- Monitor system performance and assist in preparing performance reports and KPIs
- Help manage IT infrastructure including servers and network devices
- Assist in user account management, system monitoring, and backup operations
- Collaborate with team members to gather system requirements and test software solutions
- Participate in IT documentation and contribute to service delivery improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- 0 to 1 year of relevant professional experience
