Position: ICT Intern
ILRI is seeking motivated and qualified undergraduate students to join its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit in Addis Ababa. The internship provides hands-on experience in ICT support services, technical systems management, and digital operations within an international research organization.
The intern will support the ICT service desk and gain exposure to different ICT functions including hardware support, software installation, cybersecurity, networking, and business systems.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
- Study one of the following fields:
- Computer Science
- Computer Engineering
- Information Technology
- Related fields
- Have good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Demonstrate strong written and spoken English skills
Key Responsibilities
The intern will work closely with the ICT team and support activities including:
- Managing ICT service desk tickets
- Providing basic ICT support to users
- Performing routine diagnostics on ICT systems
- Assisting with setup of physical and virtual meetings
- Cleaning and updating records in ICT systems
- Testing software and technical tools
- Installing software and hardware on devices
- Delivering ICT equipment and resources to staff
- Supporting additional ICT-related tasks assigned by supervisors
