About Amana Model Secondary School
Amana Model Secondary School (AMSS) is an educational institution under Amana Education and Training PLC, registered with the Addis Ababa City Administration Trade Bureau (Registration No. KK/AA/2/0023545/2016). Licensed by the Education and Training Quality Regulatory Authority, AMSS admits up to 600 students in grades 9–12.
Founded by a group of academicians and business leaders, AMSS officially opened its flagship school in 2024 (2017 E.C.) with the mission to transform secondary education in Ethiopia. Over half of AMSS educators are university professors across diverse fields, bringing years of experience and academic excellence to the school.
Position: Human Resource Officer (HR)
AMSS is seeking a qualified Human Resource Officer to manage HR functions and support the school’s mission of academic excellence. The ideal candidate will have proven HR experience and the ability to contribute to staff development and organizational growth.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, or related fields
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a secondary school setting
Key Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Maintain staff records and personnel files
- Support staff evaluation and performance management
- Develop HR policies and ensure compliance with employment regulations
- Identify training needs and coordinate professional development programs
- Handle employee relations, grievances, and conflict resolution
- Contribute to building a competitive and efficient workforce
- Ensure fair and transparent promotion and employment practices
- Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational goals
