The Partnership for Pastoralists Development Association (PAPDA) is a registered national NGO committed to improving the lives of Ethiopia’s pastoralist and agro-pastoralist communities. Founded in 2006 by individuals from Oromia, Somali, and Afar regions, PAPDA focuses on humanitarian and development initiatives in underserved areas. The organization is legally registered with the Agency for Civil Society Organizations (Reg. No. 0355) and continues to be a force for community-led, inclusive development.
Position: HR Intern – Fresh Graduate Program
Are you a fresh graduate passionate about people operations and HR best practices? Join PAPDA’s dynamic team and gain hands-on experience in humanitarian HR management. The role is ideal for a motivated, detail-oriented intern eager to grow their career in NGO human resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the HR team in the recruitment and onboarding process
- Review resumes, schedule interviews, and support new hire orientation
- Handle employee queries and assist with conflict resolution
- Support maintenance of employee records and HR databases
- Help with payroll data collection and administrative processing
- Participate in internal training sessions
- Scan, copy, and archive all HR-related documentation
- Provide input on HR best practices and policy updates
Required Qualifications
- BA degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Public Administration, or other related fields
- Must be a graduate of 2015 or 2016 E.C. (2022/2023 G.C.)
- 0–6 months of work experience
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS tools)
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to team success
