HOPE International Development Agency (HIDA) is an international NGO registered with the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia – Authority for Civil Society Organization. HIDA works with overlooked communities living in extreme poverty, implementing integrated community development projects focused on women’s empowerment, child development, and climate-resilient agriculture.
Position: Community Mobilizer (2)
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Diploma/BA/BSc in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Sociology, Social Work, or related social science fields.
- Experience: Not mandatory – fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Languages: Proficiency in Tigrigna, English, and Amharic is mandatory.
- Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with the project area, culture, and traditions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Competence in data analysis and reporting.
- Willingness to live in remote-rural areas and work independently.
- Team spirit with commitment to community development.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities.
- Assess and report community needs, particularly for vulnerable children and self-help group (SHG) members.
- Provide technical support and follow-up on community project activities.
- Facilitate training sessions and build the capacity of women in SHGs.
- Strengthen the capacity of families, women, and local leaders for collective community development.
- Actively participate in planning and implementing project activities.
- Prepare detailed weekly plans, monthly progress reports, and case stories.
- Document and share lessons learned and best practices.
