Position: Full Stack Developer
Role Summary
EthioChicken is seeking a skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join its growing technology team. This role is ideal for fresh graduates and early-career professionals passionate about building scalable applications and digital tools to support agricultural innovation and rural development.
You will design, develop, and deploy full-stack solutions using modern technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
- Design RESTful APIs and manage database structures for internal and external systems.
- Integrate with third-party APIs and services to enhance application functionality.
- Collaborate with business, operations, and data teams to define software requirements.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.
- Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Firebase.
- Maintain clear documentation of code and technical processes.
- Continuously research emerging technologies and suggest improvements to systems.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
Equivalent practical experience will also be considered. - Experience:
- 1–2 years of experience in full stack development using the MERN stack.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical portfolios are encouraged to apply.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Node.js and React.
- Understanding of SQL, database design, and API development.
- Familiarity with Git version control.
- Experience with GCP and Firebase (preferred).
- Exposure to Vue.js, Angular, or React Native is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) is a plus.
- Interest in additional frameworks such as Python (Django, Flask) is welcomed.
- Soft Skills:
