Position Summary
The Finance Intern will support JSI’s finance team in day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, and compliance tasks. This role offers valuable exposure to international NGO financial management practices, donor requirements, and grant reporting procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily financial operations, data entry, and record-keeping
- Support the preparation of financial reports and reconciliations
- Learn and apply various donor compliance and reporting standards
- Provide support in audit preparation and documentation
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all finance-related tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and project staff
- Assist with other finance-related duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- College diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Cumulative GPA of 3.6 or above
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks accounting software
- Excellent command of Amharic and English (spoken and written)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Willingness to travel to project implementation regions
- Eagerness to learn donor requirements and grant reporting
- Knowledge of more than one local language is an advantage
