About Ethiopian Railways Corporation
Ethiopian Railways Corporation (ERC) is the national railway operator of Ethiopia. The corporation operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Transport of Ethiopia and is responsible for developing railway infrastructure and providing both passenger and freight rail transport services across the country.
The corporation was officially established on November 20, 2007 through Council of Ministers Regulation No. 141/2007 with the objective of modernizing Ethiopia’s railway system and supporting national economic development through efficient transport services.
