Position: Junior Accountant
Digital Equb is seeking a detail-oriented and ethical Junior Accountant to join its finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, initiating digital payments, and ensuring that internal records are fully reconciled with bank statements.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word (knowledge of accounting software is an advantage)
- Strong ability to learn new systems quickly
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced fintech environment
- High ethical standards and integrity in handling sensitive financial data and large-scale payments
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and initiating daily disbursements via digital banking platforms
- Perform reconciliations between internal systems, payment gateways, and bank statements
- Maintain and update financial data within the company’s proprietary system
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including journal entries and accruals
- Use Excel functions to organize large datasets, identify discrepancies, and generate weekly reports
- Support preparation of tax declarations and statutory payments (VAT, Withholding Tax, etc.)
- Record daily financial transactions with proper documentation
- Track accounts receivable and accounts payable activities
