Cheshire Ethiopia is an independent, non-profit Ethiopian Resident Charity established in 1962 by the grandchildren of the late Emperor Haile Selassie, with technical support from Captain Leonard Cheshire. The organization plays a leading role in providing orthopedic and social rehabilitation services for children and young people with disabilities in Ethiopia.
Position: Junior Physiotherapist
Qualification Requirements
- BSc Degree in Physiotherapy
- 0 years of work experience (Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply)
Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Physiotherapist will:
- Conduct appropriate physical examinations of patients referred by medical officers or specialists.
- Develop problem-oriented treatment plans based on assessment findings.
- Provide physiotherapy treatments and adjust plans as necessary.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes and document progress.
- Maintain patient confidentiality while collaborating with medical staff.
- Apply massage and body manipulation techniques.
- Provide passive and active remedial exercises.
- Instruct patients in the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices.
- Deliver pre- and post-physiotherapy services for assistive technology users.
- Perform conservative corrections using POP for orthopedic and neurological cases.
- Utilize mechanical devices and therapeutic exercise equipment.
- Apply electrotherapy, heat, and cold therapy as required.
- Assist in clinic administration and patient scheduling.
- Report patient progress clearly to referring medical officers.
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of equipment.
- Support training and coaching of rehabilitation workers and para-professionals.
- Participate in annual planning and submit regular activity reports.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
