Cheshire Ethiopia (CE) is an Ethiopian Resident Charity dedicated to providing orthopedic and social rehabilitation services to children and young people with disabilities. Established in 1962 by the grandchildren of Emperor Haile Selassie with the technical support of Captain Leonard Cheshire, CE has grown into one of Ethiopia’s leading organizations in physical rehabilitation.

Operating as an independent local NGO staffed entirely by Ethiopians, CE plays a vital role in disability rehabilitation, mobility support, and community outreach programs across the country.

Position: Junior Physiotherapist

Educational Qualification

• BSc Degree in Physiotherapy
• No prior work experience required (0 year)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide active and passive manual therapeutic massage and apply heat, light, sound, water, and electrical treatment modalities for clients (both inpatients and outpatients).
• Administer intermittent and static traction treatments to relieve neck and back pain.
• Train, motivate, and assist patients to improve functional skills, including activities of daily living.
• Fit, adjust, and instruct patients on the use and care of orthopedic braces, prosthetics, and supportive devices such as crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Modify and adjust supportive devices as needed under instruction.
• Participate in Cheshire Ethiopia’s outreach programs.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervising Physiotherapist or Physiotherapy Unit Supervisor.

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Physiotherapist, the Junior Physiotherapist assists in preparing patients for therapy, supporting treatment sessions, and delivering routine therapeutic interventions.
