About Anhalt University STIBET Scholarships

Scholarship Categories
The STIBET program includes support for eligible students in different situations, including:
1. STIBET Graduation Scholarship
Designed for international students who are approaching the completion of their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and expect to finish their thesis within the funding period.
2. Scholarship for Particularly Committed Students
Designed for international students who have demonstrated strong academic performance and meaningful involvement in voluntary international, intercultural, or social activities at Anhalt University.
Examples may include:
- Supporting newly arrived international students
- Participating in buddy programs
- Supporting intercultural activities
- Volunteering in recognized social initiatives
- Contributing meaningfully to the university community
Financial Benefits
Selected students may receive:
- €400 per month
- Funding for 3 months
- Total support of €1,200
The scholarship is intended as short-term financial support.
What It Does NOT Generally Cover
Applicants should not expect the scholarship to fully cover:
- Complete tuition or degree costs
- International travel
- All living expenses in Germany
- Health insurance
- Full accommodation costs
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must generally be international students currently enrolled at Anhalt University.
For the Graduation Scholarship
Applicants should:
- Be enrolled at Anhalt University.
- Be approaching completion of their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- Have completed most of their required academic credits.
- Demonstrate good or very good academic performance.
- Be able to complete their thesis within the relevant funding period.
- Live in Germany during the thesis period.
- Provide a realistic plan for completing their degree.
Applicants should explain:
- Their current study program
- Credits already completed
- Expected graduation date
- Thesis progress
- How the scholarship will support completion of their degree
A reasonable monthly schedule covering activities such as research, thesis writing, submission, and remaining examinations should also be provided.
For the Scholarship for Particularly Committed Students
Applicants should demonstrate:
- Good or very good academic performance.
- Active involvement in international, intercultural, or social activities.
- Meaningful voluntary contributions to the Anhalt University community.
- Evidence of their responsibilities and contributions.
- A recommendation from a professor at Anhalt University.
Required Documents
Applicants may be required to submit:
- Completed application form
- Academic transcripts
- HIS/QIS academic and examination records
- Motivation letter of up to 1,800 characters
- Two-page tabular CV
- Recommendation from an Anhalt University professor
- Monthly graduation schedule, where applicable
- Evidence of volunteer activities, where applicable
- Thesis registration, if applicable
- Degree certificates and other relevant academic documents
- Other supporting documents requested by the university
Important
The professor’s recommendation must be submitted directly to the STIBET scholarship administration where required.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Selection Criteria
The selection committee considers factors such as:
- Academic performance
- Progress toward graduation
- Feasibility of completing the degree within the funding period
- Quality of the motivation letter
- Strength of the professor’s recommendation
- Evidence of social, international, or intercultural engagement
