Current focus areas include Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAYH), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Through the USAID-funded Integrated Youth Activity (IYA) — a $60M five-year initiative across 18 cities — Amref leads a consortium of 15 partners delivering holistic youth-focused interventions in health, education, and economic empowerment.
Position: Data and Insights Assistant
Education & Experience
- Required: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Management, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Public Health, or related fields
- Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in data management, analysis, or similar roles in development, public health, or research sectors
Technical Skills
- Basic SQL for running queries
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau
- Exposure to R, SPSS, or STATA is an added advantage
- Understanding of data cleaning, entry, and basic warehousing
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Attention to detail and excellent organization
- Time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication and teamwork mindset
- Eagerness to learn about data governance and warehousing
- Interest in public health or social impact programs
Key Responsibilities
- Support data cleaning, quality assurance, and entry processes
- Generate basic reports and dashboards using visualization tools
- Assist in documentation, archiving, and analysis of project data
- Collaborate with monitoring and evaluation teams on data tracking
- Participate in trainings and workshops related to data use and digital tools
