As part of its upcoming 2017–2018 E.C. research cycle, AER is recruiting a roster of Field Enumerators to support data collection for large-scale quantitative and qualitative surveys across Ethiopia.
POSITION: FIELD ENUMERATORS (Quantitative & Qualitative)
We are seeking detail-oriented, ethical, and motivated individuals to carry out interviews, facilitate discussions, and ensure accurate and professional data collection for research and evaluation projects.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct household and firm surveys in both rural and urban areas
- Administer questionnaires and record data with precision
- Facilitate Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
- Translate and transcribe interviews from local languages into English
- Translate survey instruments into Amharic or other local languages
- Ensure strict adherence to ethical standards and data quality protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
- MA/MSc degree in any field (social sciences, economics, public health, statistics, etc.)
- Proficient in both English and Amharic
- Knowledge of other local languages is an added advantage
- Previous fieldwork/data collection experience is preferred
- Recommendation letter or reference required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to travel and work in different regions under varied field conditions
