Position: Legal Officer
Educational Qualification:
- LLM/LLB Degree in Law
Experience:
- Minimum of 4/6 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 3 years in the banking sector.
Job Objective
To ensure the Bank’s legal protection by providing sound legal advice, reviewing contractual documents, and mitigating potential legal risks in credit and operational processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Draft and review loan, pledge, mortgage, and other banking-related contracts.
- Ensure the legality and compliance of all borrower documentation.
- Review contracts for completeness and validity before signing.
- Verify registration and accuracy of mortgage contracts and collateral insurance.
- Oversee secure management and filing of all legal and credit-related documents.
- Monitor expiry periods of mortgage contracts and initiate timely renewals or actions.
- Represent the Bank in court cases and legal proceedings.
- Identify and address legal loopholes or risks within operational frameworks.
- Provide training and coaching on legal matters to relevant staff.
- Collaborate closely with credit process teams to ensure compliance.
- Prepare weekly and monthly legal activity reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
