Position: District Manager I – Dire Dawa District
Role Summary
Abay Bank is seeking an experienced and result-oriented professional to lead its operations in the Dire Dawa District. The District Manager will oversee branch performance, manage teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive growth through strategic leadership and customer service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall banking operations of the Dire Dawa District
- Oversee performance, compliance, and resource optimization across multiple branches
- Ensure quality service delivery and growth of the Bank’s market share
- Supervise team performance, capacity building, and adherence to internal controls
- Implement corporate strategy at the district level and monitor progress against KPIs
- Foster strong customer and stakeholder relationships in the assigned district
- Prepare reports, manage risks, and support regulatory audits
Required Qualifications
Educational Background
- Minimum Requirement: BA Degree in Management, Accounting, Economics, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- Preferred: MBA/MA in Management, Finance, Economics, or related fields
Work Experience
- BA Degree holders: Minimum 10 years in banking, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role in banking operations
- MA/MBA holders: Minimum 8 years in banking, with at least 3 years in a supervisory position
