About YaYa Wallet (YaYa PII SC)
YaYa PII SC is a licensed Payment Instrument Issuer established in 2022, operating under the directive ONPS/09/2023 issued by the National Bank of Ethiopia. YaYa Wallet provides secure, reliable, and innovative digital payment solutions through iOS and Android mobile applications.
The platform enables cash-in and cash-out services, domestic money transfers, merchant payments, bill payments, card and bank transfers, over-the-counter transactions, and inward international remittance services—driving financial inclusion through technology.
Position: Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- QA or Software Testing certification (e.g., ISTQB) is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 1+ year of experience in software testing (manual and automated)
- Experience in fintech, banking, or digital payment systems is highly preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for mobile wallet applications and backend services
- Perform functional, regression, integration, performance, and security testing
- Validate financial transaction workflows including bank transfers, merchant payments, bill payments, and remittances
- Identify, document, and track defects using bug-tracking tools and collaborate with developers for resolution
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines
- Conduct API testing using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data privacy standards (e.g., PCI DSS)
- Maintain QA documentation and provide detailed testing reports
- Continuously improve QA processes, tools, and automation coverage
Technical Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, JUnit, TestNG)
- Proficiency in API testing (Postman, SoapUI)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and performance/load testing
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL for data validation
- Awareness of security testing and compliance requirements
