Position Summary: Education Programme Intern

UNICEF Ethiopia is seeking a motivated and committed Education Programme Intern to support the Education Section in Addis Ababa. This internship provides recent graduates with valuable hands-on experience in programme implementation, coordination, and reporting within one of the world’s leading humanitarian organizations.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

  • Must be a recent graduate (within the past three years) or currently enrolled at a university in one of the following fields:
    Education, Economics, Psychology, Environmental Science, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, International Relations, International Development, Sociology, or other relevant Social Sciences.

Language:

  • Fluency in English is required.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to collect, analyze, and share programme implementation data.
  • Support the preparation of technical documents, reports, and briefing materials.
  • Assist in organizing and documenting education programme reviews.
  • Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises and prepare minutes and follow-up reports.
  • Undertake field visits and liaise with partners to assess progress and challenges.
  • Attend education coordination meetings, take detailed minutes, and share updates with relevant UNICEF staff.
  • Promote innovative and sustainable approaches in programme delivery.

Desirable Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related applications.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multicultural team.
