About the Sophie Germain Scholarship

The Sophie Germain Scholarship is fully funded by the Jacques Hadamard Mathematics Foundation and offers international students the opportunity to pursue Master’s or PhD degrees in Mathematics and Applications at leading French institutions. The program is designed for talented students worldwide and supports both European and non-European students (visa required for non-Europeans).

Approximately 50 Master’s scholarships are available for the 2026/27 academic year.

Scholarship Duration

  • Master’s M1: 1 Year
  • Master’s M2: 2 Years
  • PhD: 3 Years

Benefits

Selected scholars will receive:

  • €11,000 annual stipend
  • University registration fees coverage
  • Up to €2,000 for round airfare and visa costs
  • Housing support and essential living expenses for international students

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to all international students
  • Students must apply to an eligible master’s program
  • Non-European students must apply for a visa
