Position: Safety & Security Assistant
Level: Entry to Early-Career (0–2 Years Experience)
Duty Station: Chereti, Ethiopia
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of safety and security protocols across field operations
- Assist in risk assessments, incident reports, and site security inspections
- Maintain situational awareness by monitoring local events and trends
- Liaise with local authorities, NGOs, and partners regarding safety concerns
- Facilitate safety briefings, security training, and information sharing for staff
- Support emergency preparedness and response efforts
- Maintain updated documentation on staff movement and field travel
- Ensure that all safety protocols align with FHI 360 global standards
Desired Qualifications:
- BA degree or international equivalent in Security Management, Information Management, Business Administration, International Relations, or Political/Social Sciences
- 0–2 years of relevant experience in investigation, military, law enforcement, or security operations
- Prior experience in an NGO, UN, or humanitarian organization is preferred
- Knowledge of local security context and conflict sensitivity in Ethiopia
- Strong analytical skills with a neutral and unbiased perspective
- Fluent in Amharic and proficient in English
