About the Clarendon Scholarship at Oxford
The Clarendon Scholarship is one of the most prestigious fully funded scholarships at the University of Oxford, UK. Each year, about 130 new scholars are awarded this opportunity to pursue postgraduate study across all disciplines.
The program provides full financial support for tuition and living costs and offers recipients the chance to join a highly international and multidisciplinary academic community at Oxford.
Unlike many scholarships, the Clarendon does not require a separate application. All eligible candidates who apply for a graduate course at Oxford by the January deadline are automatically considered.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Clarendon Scholarship at Oxford, applicants must:
- Apply for a full-time or part-time Master’s or DPhil (PhD) program at Oxford.
- Meet the academic entry requirements of their chosen course.
- Submit their graduate course application by January 19, 2026.
- Demonstrate excellent academic performance and potential.
There are no restrictions on nationality, residence, or field of study.
What the Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees at the University of Oxford.
- Annual living allowance: In 2025, the stipend was at least £15,009 (sufficient to cover living expenses for a single student in Oxford).
- Funding duration:
- Master’s: 1–2 years
- PhD (DPhil): 3–4 years
Available Fields of Study
Clarendon Scholarships are available in all academic disciplines at Oxford. Students may choose from over 12,000 Master’s and PhD programs across departments.
