About Ohio State Global One Health Initiative
Ohio State Global One Health Initiative (GOH, LLC) is an affiliated entity of The Ohio State University, implementing global health security projects in Ethiopia and beyond. The initiative connects multiple countries—Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Brazil, Thailand, China, India—through a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to improve public health, build local capacity, and provide practical learning opportunities for students.
Ohio State GOH collaborates with the Federal Ministry of Health, Ethiopian Public Health Institute, Regional Health Bureaus, universities, and research institutions to strengthen surveillance, emergency preparedness, and workforce capacity for public health emergencies.
Open Positions
1. Junior Logistics and Procurement Officer
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in procurement of lab supplies, reagents, equipment, and customs clearance.
- Knowledge of procurement regulations for donor-funded programs.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent English communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks independently.
2. Accountant
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
- At least 2 years of experience in financial accounting and administrative activities.
- Experience with QuickBooks and MS Office Suite.
Skills:
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to confidentiality, honesty, integrity, and ethics.
3. Regional Global Health Security Advisor
Location: Tigray (Mekelle) – frequent travel to Zones and Woredas
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master of Public Health (Field Epidemiology, Public Health Epidemiology, Health Services Management, or related).
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in Global Health Security projects, surveillance, emergency preparedness, and capacity building.
- Proven expertise in infectious disease, epidemiology, program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience in multi-partner collaboration, social and behavioral change, and infection prevention.
4. Strategic Regional Director (SRD), Global One Health Eastern Africa
Location: Addis Ababa
Qualifications & Experience:
- MD with additional MPH, PhD, or related advanced degree.
- 8–12 years of experience at the global level in maternal and child health.
- Leadership experience, including mobilization of extramural funding.
- Proven track record in international NGOs, academic projects, and global health implementation.
