JOB POSITION & REQUIREMENTS
Position: Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Officer
Education: Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science/ Environmental Health or Sanitary Science.
Experience: 0 year work Experience , Knowledge of HACCP and ISO 22000 preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily hygiene and sanitation inspections in production, storage, and compound areas.
- Develop, implement, and monitor hygiene control systems for employees.
- Inspect facility areas, identify concerns, and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee the implementation of relevant prerequisite programs as per ISO/TS22002-1.
- Identify and report structural deficiencies in food operations.
- Manage cleaning, sanitation, and related documentation and records.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Manage waste disposal systems effectively.
- Develop, review, and implement cleaning schedules in collaboration with departments.
- Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices and employee hygiene responsibilities.
- Provide guidance on sanitary design for facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Coordinate with HR to ensure timely employee medical examinations.
- Participate in environmental continuous improvement initiatives.
- Enforce the company’s Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Maintain and improve the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001:2015).
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international environmental laws and client requirements.
- Promote sustainable practices like resource conservation, recycling, and emission reduction.
- Identify environmental impacts and devise prevention or mitigation methods.
- Maintain a chemical inventory, ensure compliance with safety data sheets, and manage hazardous materials.
- Apply the 3R + 1R rule (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink) to minimize environmental impacts.
- Accurately monitor and document resource usage and waste performances.
- Report Food Safety Management System (FSMS) issues to the Deputy Quality Manager.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the line manager.
