In Ethiopia, GIZ is implementing the Higher Tier Cooking Component (HTCC) project under the broader initiative Strengthening the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for the Clean Cooking Sector. Funded by the Netherlands Development Agency (RVO) and jointly implemented with the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV), the project aims to promote clean cooking technologies and strengthen market ecosystems.

Position: Internship – Fresh Graduates

This internship provides an exciting opportunity for young professionals to gain practical experience in sustainable agriculture, natural resource management, and climate-resilient land use practices.

Qualifications

  • BSc/MSc in Agriculture, Natural Resource Management, Rural Development, Agricultural Economics, Watershed Management, Land Use, Community Development, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates (completed studies within the past six months).
  • Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, data collection tools, and social media).
  • Strong writing and communication abilities.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
  • Fluency in English and Amharic (written and spoken).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Collection & Analysis
    • Conduct field surveys on land management and climate resilience.
    • Support analysis of collected data to identify trends and inform project strategies.
  2. Community Engagement & Event Support
    • Assist in organizing training sessions and workshops.
    • Engage with local communities to promote adoption of innovative practices.
    • Coordinate events, meetings, and project progress reviews.
  3. Knowledge Sharing & Digital Tools
    • Document tested ILM (Integrated Land Management) practices.
    • Disseminate best practices through social media and forums.
    • Ensure accurate and timely data collection at district and landscape levels.
  4. Reporting & Documentation
    • Prepare detailed activity reports, case studies, and success stories.
    • Support project communications and public relations efforts.
  5. Monitoring & Evaluation
    • Contribute to project monitoring and assessment of climate resilience measures.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to strengthen project impact.
