JOB POSITION & REQUIREMENTS
We are a humanitarian organization working in partnership with the Ethiopian government, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societie (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), partnering national societies, volunteers and our beneficiaries
Position 1: Documentary Producer
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development & Storytelling:
- Research, develop, and pitch documentary concepts that align with ERCS’s mission.
- Identify compelling humanitarian stories and work with field teams to gather footage.
- Develop scripts, narratives, and storyboards for documentaries.Production & Filming:
- Plan and coordinate on-location and in-studio shoots.
- Direct and film interviews,field operation , and humanitarian responses.
- Ensure ethical representation and informed consent of beneficiaries
Editing & Post-Production:
- Edit raw footage into compelling stories using industry-standard software.
- Integrate voiceovers, subtitles, music, and animations as needed.
- Maintain consistency in branding, messaging, and visual quality.
Project Management:
- Oversee documentary production timelines and budgets.
- Coordinate with iinternal teams and external production partners.
- Secure necessary approvals from ERCS leadership and partners.
- Ensure documentaries are tailored for different platforms (social media, TV, fundraising events).
Advocacy & Engagement:

- Work closely with the Communication and Humanitarian Diplomacy teams to align messaging.
- Support fundraising and awareness campaigns by producing impactful audiovisual content
Compliance & Archiving:
- Ensure adherence to ERCS and Red Cross Movement principles.
- Maintain a well-organized archive of raw and edited footage.
- Secure copyright and legal permissions for content use.
Level of Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Film Production, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6/4 years of experience in documentary filmmaking, video production, or media content creation.
- Prior experience in humanitarian, nonprofit, or development organizations is highly preferred.
- Proven track record of producing impactful humanitarian or social documentaries.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Strong cinematography and photography skills.
- Experience with drone videography and advanced camera equipment is a plus.
- Knowledge of motion graphics and animation is an advantage.

Position 2: Digital Media Expert
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive digital media strategy aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Content Creation: Create engaging and compelling multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and written content, for various digital platforms such as social media, website, blogs, and newsletters.
- Social Media Management: Manage and maintain the organization’s social media accounts, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. This includes content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and responding to audience engagement.
- Community Engagement: Foster positive interactions and build relationships with our online community through active engagement and dialogue. Monitor social media trends, analyze data, and track performance metrics to optimize content and strategies for maximum engagement and impact.
- Digital Campaigns: Plan and execute digital campaigns to raise awareness, drive engagement, and support fundraising initiatives. Collaborate with intenal teams to generate multimedia content, including videos, infographics, and animations, to support digital campaigns and initiatives.
- Analytics and Reporting: Monitor and analyze digital performance metrics to track the effectiveness of campaigns and strategies, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Digital Advertising: Develop and implement digital advertising campaigns across various platforms to amplify our message and reach new audiences. Additionally, develop and implement digital advertising campaigns to promote fundraising activities, events, and humanitarian appeals.
- Website Management: Ensure the organization’s website is up-to-date, user-friendly, and optimized for search engines to enhance visibility and accessibility.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely withintenal teams , including communications, fundraising, and programmatic teams, to ensure alignment and integration of digital media efforts with overall organizational activities. Additionally, support the communications team in crisis communication efforts by providing real-time updates and managing online reputation during emergencies or disasters.
- Stay Updated: Stay informed about digital trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in digital media and communication to continuously improve our digital presence and effectiveness.

Level of Qualification:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, computer science, IT, Marketing, Digital Media, or related field.
- Minimum of 6/4 years of experience in digital media, social media management, or digital marketing roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector or humanitarian organizations.
- Proficiency in content creation and multimedia production, with experience using graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, content management system(CMS), and digital analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling and impactful content for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing digital media strategies and campaigns that drive engagement, visibility, and impact.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions to optimize performance.
- Collaborative mindset with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

- Fluency in English and Amharic (both written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of other Ethiopian languages is a plus.

Position 3: Audiovisual & Graphics Editor
Key Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, storyboard, and execute video projects from start to finish.
- Edit raw footage into compelling and visually appealing videos that align with the organization’s objectives.
- Create motion graphics, animations, and visual effects to enhance video content.
- Design graphics and layouts for print and digital materials such as brochures, posters, banners, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the communication team to develop creative concepts and strategies for visual content.
- Ensure consistency in branding and messaging across all visual materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in video editing, motion graphics, and graphic design.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or any other.
- Strong skills in motion graphics and animation using software like Adobe After Effects.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign.
- Excellent understanding of visual storytelling, composition, and typography.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and willingness to take creative direction.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of humanitarian issues and familiarity with the work of theRed Cross society is desirable but not required.
