Internship Program Overview
The internship program provides opportunities for fresh female graduates to gain practical experience in development work. Interns will support project activities including communication, documentation, community engagement, and program implementation related to:
- Adolescent sexual and reproductive health
- Nutrition
- Gender-based violence prevention
- Livelihood development
- Food security
- Environmental sustainability
Interns may also assist in preparing communication materials, documentation of project achievements, and coordination of awareness campaigns aligned with CARE’s branding and communication guidelines.

Position 1: Intern – Gender and Economic Strengthening
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or MA in:
- Gender Studies
- Sociology
- Gender and Development
- Psychology
- Social Studies
- Related fields
• Female fresh graduate
• Zero years of work experience required
Desired Technical Skills
• Good written and verbal Sidaamu Afoo and English language skills
• Good computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel)
• Strong commitment to gender equality and sensitivity to vulnerable groups
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Quick learning ability and teamwork skills
Location: Hawassa – Bilate Zuria
Position 2: Intern – Livelihood and Food Security
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree or MA/MSc in:
- Agriculture
- Rural Development and Agricultural Extension
- Agricultural Economics
- Agribusiness
- Related fields
• Female fresh graduate
• Zero years of work experience required
Desired Technical Skills
• Good written and verbal Sidaamu Afoo and English language skills
• Good computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel)
• Strong belief in gender equality and sensitivity to vulnerable groups
• Teamwork and collaboration skills

Position 3: Intern – WASH and Natural Resource / Watershed Management

- Water Engineering
- Natural Resource Management
- Hydrology
- Environmental Science
- Related fields
• Female fresh graduate
• Zero years of work experience required
