Bank of Abyssinia invites qualified and experienced professionals to apply for the following position:
Position: Legal Officer
Educational Qualification
- LLM or LLB Degree in Law
Work Experience
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant legal work experience
- At least 3 years of experience in the banking sector
Job Objective
To protect the Bank from potential legal risks by providing legal advice to credit process owners and ensuring that all legally required documents are properly reviewed, validated, and executed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare loan, pledge, mortgage, and other related legal contracts
- Ensure the legal compliance of all borrowers of the Bank
- Review contracts for completeness and legal soundness and provide approval
- Review and confirm the proper registration of mortgage contracts and collateral insurance policies
- Ensure security documents are properly maintained with authorized personnel
- Facilitate accurate filing and safe custody of loan documents and related records
