Position: Junior Accountant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work well in a team and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and accounting principles
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
Requirement Skill:
- Microsoft Office Pack: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Familiar with Peachtree, ETAX and ETASS
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily data entry tasks to update and maintain accounting records.
- Maintain proper filing of financial documents
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and accounts payable/receivable.
- Assist in tax filing (income tax, VAT, pension) and compliance with Ethiopian tax laws.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders.
- Assist in generating financial reports and statements.
- Help ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures and local tax regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Assist senior accountants with ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
- Assisting with the calculation and processing of employee salaries and related taxes.
Location: Addis Ababa
