The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 with the mission to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. GAIN collaborates with governments and businesses to transform food systems, enabling better access to nutritious, safe food for all—especially the most vulnerable populations.
Position Summary
GAIN is seeking a proactive Intern for Communications and Social Media to join the Act4Food team in Ethiopia. The role will focus on curating and managing social media content and maintaining the Act4Food website. This is an exciting opportunity for young professionals passionate about youth engagement, digital communication, and global nutrition advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Regularly update the Act4Food website and social media channels (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Collaborate with the GAIN communications team to share stories, reports, and case studies
- Follow and refine the Act4Food social media content plan
- Coordinate with youth leaders to feature their work and stories online
- Support administrative and website management tasks
Qualifications & Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing Management, Journalism, International Development, or a related field
- Basic experience with WordPress and social media performance tools
- Strong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Amharic
- Creative content development abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, fast-paced team
